LusioMATE for Myomo: User Manual

Welcome to LusioMATE, the serious gaming rehabilitation platform designed to work seamlessly with your MyoPro device. This guide will walk you through the setup, player management, and movement goal creation to get you started on your recovery journey.

1. Getting Started & Login

To begin, open the LusioMATE app. You will need an account provided by Myomo or your clinician. Login requires an email and a password.Forgot Password: If you cannot remember your credentials, click the Forgot Password? button on the login screen

Loading: Once you click Login, a progress bar will appear while the app syncs your data

2. Permissions

For the app to communicate with your MyoPro device, you must grant specific permissions. Ensure Bluetooth Scan, Bluetooth Connect, and Microphone are enabled in your device settings - Microphone is used for voice commands in some of the Lusio games. This pop-up will display upon initial download of the app to help set the necessary permissions. A green checkmark indicates the permission is active.

Note for iOS users: If the permissions are disabled after the initial download through the phone’s Settings, this pop-up will not display again. Please use the Settings App to confirm the permissions are enabled if needed.

3. Player Management

After logging in, you will see the Player List

  • Existing Players: Search for a player by name or select them from the list to view their activity (Reps, Minutes, and Progress).

  • Add New Player: Click the + Add New Player button. Enter the player's First Name, Last Name, and an optional Nickname to register a new player. You can also specify if the affected side is the Left by using the Left Hand checkbox before clicking Register:

4. Movement Goals

Movement Goals are the heart of your rehab. Each player can have unique goals based on their specific needs.

  • Goal Gallery: View existing goals or click the (+) Create New Goal icon to start a new one

  • Step 1: Select Joint:

    • Choose to focus on the Elbow, Hand, or Both.

    • Define Positions: Set your Refill (Get Ball) position and your Action (Shoot) position. For example, "Hand Opened" to get the ball and "Hand Closed" to shoot. You can use the Swap Positions button to flip these.

  • Step 2: Set Targets:

    • Title: Give your goal a recognizable name. You can use this to note what active modes you want to practice with this goal. (Ex: “Biceps and Open”)

    • Daily Goal: Use the scroller to set a target for Reps (repetitions) or Time (min).

    • Visual Aids: You can add custom photos of your specific start/end positions or sensor placements by clicking Add Images.

  • Finish: Click Finish to save the goal.

Tip: If you hit your daily target, you will be awarded a Gold Trophy in your recent trophies section!

Here you can Edit the title or picture of the movement goal, or Delete it entirely. Also, you can check the statistics or photos.

5. Playing the Game

Once a goal is selected, choose your difficulty level: Easy, Medium, or Hard.

Be sure to put your MyoPro in the appropriate active modes for your movement goal using the MyoPro control panel at the elbow module!

A rep game session is 60 seconds long as a default. You can choose to play multiple sessions or select “long play” which will allow the session to go until you choose to exit in the upper right corner.

  • This adjusts the game’s color palette (e.g., the basketball, UI highlights, and progress bars) to ensure high contrast and clear visibility for all users.

Connectivity & Troubleshooting

Since the MyoPro device connects via Bluetooth, maintaining a stable link is key to a smooth gaming experience.

Auto-Connect & Reconnection

  • Auto-Connect: LusioMATE will attempt to Auto-Connect whenever the app is opened and the device is powered on nearby.

  • Background Reconnection: If you accidentally minimize the app or take a call, the app will attempt to stay linked. However, for security and battery saving, it may disconnect if the app is in the background for too long. Simply returning to the app will trigger an auto-reconnect sequence. Just wait a bit, and you will see the connection is established automatically soon.

  • Pro-Tip: If the app cannot connect to the MyoPro device, you can try restarting the MyoPro device and give it a bit more time. This usually works in most cases.

In-Game Disconnect Message

  • If the Bluetooth signal is lost during a game, a "Connection Lost" pop-up will appear.

  • Don't Panic: The game will pause automatically so you don't lose progress.

  • Wait: The app will try to reconnect for 30 seconds. If successful, the message will disappear and you can resume.

  • Pro-Tip: The "Fresh Start" Rule If you experience persistent "Device Not Found" issues or the connection keeps dropping:

    • Close the LusioMATE app completely.

    • Power OFF your MyoPro device, wait 5 seconds, and Power it back ON.

    • Restart the app. This resets the Bluetooth handshake and usually solves 99% of connection hurdles.

Visual Customization (Add & Edit Photos)

  • You can make your movement goals easier to follow by adding real-world references.

  • Add Pictures: On the New Goal (2/2) screen, click the (+) Add Images button. Use your tablet/phone camera to take a photo of:

    • Your arm at the exact "Start" and "End" positions.

    • Where the sensors are placed on your MyoPro.

  • Edit Pictures: If your therapy changes, you can click the Pencil Icon next to any player or goal to swap out old photos for new ones. This ensures your visual guide always matches your current physical ability.
